Music
Assets
Music assets are sound tracks used for playing with your Timeline movie. They
are stored in the Music Panel which is accessible by double clicking the "sound"
button at the far right of Timeline Strip. (Note: a single click on this "sound"
button is to preview or stop/start the sound track that is currently associated
with the Timeline.)
Music
Panel

When you double click the "sound" button on the Timeline,
a 2-tab panel will open on top of your current interface (the underneath
interface is dim and most of its functions are temporarily inaccessible).
The top tab of Music Panel is for "THEME" music selections
and the under tab panel is for "USER" music selection. You
click on the tab name to switch between the 2 panels. In each panel
there is a list of soundtracks for you to choose from for your movie.
Each list item is preceded by a "check" box and followed
by a sound symbol. The check box is for track selection and the sound
symbol is for track preview. The 2 types of music selections are:
THEME Selection
This is the default panel on the top. There are 7 theme tracks listed
in this panel for you to choose from. These are sound tracks come
with your Comixware package: Soundtrack 1 through Soundtrack 7.
USER
Selection
The under tab panel (USER) is reserved for you to implement your
own music. Initially, items in "USER" panel appear empty.
But once you implemented your user music, the titles of your music
will show up alphabetically in this panel. In order to make your
own soundtracks available for selection you need to have your sound
files stored in "user" folder (see User
Music).
The default movie soundtrack is "SoundTrack 1" from the "THEME"
selections (you see a dot in the check box before the title indicating it's being
selected). That means if you don't make a selection your movie is to be played
with "Soundtrack 1". Only one track can be selected at a time, and is
used for the duration of the entire movie. To make a different selection simply
click in the check box of another soundtrack. The change takes place immediately.
Note that the Timeline's "sound" button changes its color accordingly
reflecting your latest selection. Now when you playback your movie the selected
soundtrack will play along with it. You can of course play around with different
soundtracks to the same movie. Different music would create different moods for
your presentation.
You
can preview any soundtrack in the Music Panel by clicking on the sound symbol
at the right of that track. You can also preview the soundtrack currently associated
with your timeline by clicking the sound button on the far right of the Timeline
strip.
The
Music Panel can be incited from any section where the Timeline is present (i.e.,
Compose, Play, Save and Gallery). The panel is opened on top of the existing interface.
While the Music Panel is on, the underneath interface is dimmed and the normal
functions of the section is temporarily "blocked" off. To return to
the normal operation, you simply close off the Music Panel (by clicking the panel's
"close" button or by double clicking the sound button again on the Timeline)
or execute the "play" command on your Timeline.
Note:
In Compose section, if you make a selection in your Timeline while the Music Panel
is on, the panel will go off automatically in favor of your Timeline editing activity.
