Informatics

The timeline strip has several data and reference icons to inform you the current playback and/or navigation status of your movie. They are especially useful when you are dealing with a lengthy movie. These informatics are:

Scene Number Display
(clapboard icon)
This is the "current" and "total" scene number display of a timeline. It locates on top of the Timeline Strip at the far left side (next to a 'clapboard' icon). The "current" scene number shows the current selected scene position in a timeline and the "total" scene number denotes the length of a timeline (movie). During playback the "current" number will dynamically reflect the progression of the playhead. The "current" scene number is user selectable and definable. To jump to another scene in the Timeline, simply select the "current" number and overwrite it with a designated (scene) number, then hit "Enter" key. This will take you to the corresponding scene instantaneously (the selected scene along with its pertaining section of the Timeline strip will jump to the center screen), whether the Timeline is stationary or in playback.

Tip: In a lengthy timeline, it'd be easier to locate an out of view scene by using the scene number "hopping" technique than by Timeline navigation controls.

Reel Number
(
film reel icon)
In Comixware a "reel" is comprised of 50 scenes. For instance the first reel contains scene 1 to scene 50, the second reel contains scene 51 to scene 100, and the third contains 101 to 150, so on and so forth. The reel number is located next to a 'film reel' icon situated at the center on top of the Timeline strip. The number works in conjunction with the reel jumper control. Each click on the jumper button will advance or backspace this number by 50 (scenes).

Sound B
utton
This is a sound 'symbol' representing the (selected) music associated with current timeline movie. It is also a trigger 'button' for bringing up the Music Panel. It is located at the far right on top of the Timeline strip. Each time you choose a different track from the Music Panel, your selection will be reflected on this sound symbol (in corresponding color). When a movie is downloaded from the Gallery, its soundtrack is also reflected on this symbol with respective color.

A single click of this button will preview the sound track of the current timeline movie. During playback, you can also be used this button to turn the movie's music on or off by single clicking it. A double click of this button will open the Music Panel for additional soundtrack selections.

Scene
(number) Markers

These are marks of scene numbers located in the bottom sprocket strip of the Timeline itself. Each number denotes the order of that frame (scene) in relationship to the Timeline.
