Scene Selection

Before any editing task can be performed on a timeline, you must first select the scene(s) that you want the editing to be applied to.

To select a single scene:

Simply click on the thumbnail of a scene in the Timeline. A white box will appear around the scene and an orange triangle (the Playhead) will light up above the thumbnail indicating the scene is being selected. And the picture of the selected scene will show up in the Preview or Compose window depending on the editing mode (TE or SC) you are in.

To select multiple scenes:

a) For a 'consecutive' selection: while holding down 'Shift' key, click on the first scene and then the last scene to have them all selected at once. The selected scenes will all be bordered with white boxes.

b) For a 'nonconsecutive' selection: while holding down 'Ctrl' key ('Command' on Mac) click on thumbnails of the desired scenes one by one to have them selected.

To deselect scene(s):

a) For deselecting the entire selection, click on any unselected scene in the Timeline.

b) For deselecting certain scene(s) from a multiple selection, while holding down 'Ctrl' key ('Command' on Mac), click on unwanted scene(s) one by one to have them deselected form the group.

Note:

a) A selection of multiple scenes can include any scene from any place in a timeline, as long as you keep your Ctrl or Shift key down while scrolling the Timeline to get your scene(s) selected.

b) 'Empty' scene(s) can be selected and deselected just like the "normal" scene.

Drag-N-Drop Selection

1. A selection of scene(s) can be drag-n-dropped to any place in the Timeline. You can drag-n-drop scene(s) to move the selection to other location, to replace other scene(s), or to do insert editing in the Timeline. The dropped-in selection can either replace the scene(s) at its dropped-on frame(s) or insert itself between 2 bordered scenes.

2. A dragged out selection will leave empty scene(s) at its original location.

3. A dragged selection would propel the timeline moving to either direction when it's being butted against the edge of the Timeline strip (so that you can drag-n-drop selection to any place in the Timeline as long as you keep your finger pressed on the mouse).
