Installation

Comixware's installation is straightforward. Locate the installer named 'cware.exe' (or 'Comixware Installer' for Mac version) from your download directory or Comixware CD. Double-click the installer to get it launched and its setup dialog screens will lead you through the rest of the installation process.

Note: For both PC and Mac versions, you need QuickTime driver (version 6 or greater) preinstalled to run Comixware. If you don't already have it on your system, you can download it free from Apple's web site at: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download.

Initiation

After installation, this is the one time Initiation screen you see when you launch Comixware the first time. Type in your User ID and Unlock KEY in the corresponding fields:

User ID: Your User ID is your designated e-mail address. If you bought your Comixware online, please make sure you enter the SAME e-mail address as used for your online purchase. If you bought your Comixware through retail channel, please enter an e-mail address that you want it to be associated with your Comixware registration.

KEY: Enter the unlock KEY that comes with your retail package or has been assigned to you by e-mail (when you bought your copy online). Your unlock KEY is made of 16 characters in combination of numbers and letters (of both upper and lower cases). The KEY needs to be entered exactly as it's composed of. Please pay special attention to distinguish characters between upper case O and number 0 (zero), as well as among lower case l, upper case I and number 1 (one). They could look alike depending on the font you use. For easier conformation, (before you launch Comixware) you may want to copy the KEY onto your clipboard first and then (after the program is launched) use keyboard shortcut 'Ctrl + V' (Command + V for Mac) to paste it into the KEY field on Initiation screen.

Now make sure your Internet connection is on, then click OK button on the Initiation screen to send your ID and KEY to our online registration system for validation. Once your User ID and unlock KEY are validated, you will be led to the End User's License Agreement screen. Click "ACCEPT" to agree the terms. Now your copy of Comixware is officially "initiated". Congratulations!

Title Screen

Once your copy of Comixware is initiated, the program will next double check if you have the correct QuickTime driver installed on your system. If yes, Comixware will start playing its Title sequence leading you into the program. That means you are all set and from now on this Title screen is your entrance to Comixware. On the other hand, if you don't already have the necessary driver on your system, a reminder message will appear over Title sequence prompting you to download QuickTime player from Apple's web site. Simply follow the link, get the driver, install it and relaunch Comixware. Now you'll see Title sequence played out in its entirety and no more QuickTime prompt again. From this Title screen, use the top menu tabs to start off your program session from any of the four sections of Comixware: READ, COMPOSE, SAVE, or GALLERY.

Note: Keep your User ID and KEY in a save place because you might need them later for reinstallation of the program. If you lost your KEY or have problem initiating your copy of Comixware, please write to order@yimagination.com with your User ID and original purchase receipt for a manual retrieval.
