How To
The
way to share your "user" assets is to first compose your
movie with such assets. (See Media
Compatibility to learn the file format options for your
assets.) You can build your movie entirely with your own assets
or mixing them with Comixware's supplied assets. Upon your posting
of such movie Comixware will detect that it contains user assets
and ask whether you want to share your assets with others by a Linked
URL. If you answer "YES", you'll be led to the next screen
which has an URL field for you to specify a server address where
you stored (or will be storing) your user assets. For example:
http://www.mywebsite.com/myassets/
(where "myassets" is the name of the directory where you
store your sharing assets).
Enter
the URL and press the "POST" button. Voila, your movie
is now posted in the Gallery with a linked URL that allows users
all over world to download your custom creation.
Note:
a) You should store all your sharing assets (BG clips, scene objects and
sound track) pertained to one movie in ONE location (web directory). Since the
Linked URL accommodates one address per movie.
b)
If you answer "NO" to asset sharing, your movie will be posted without
your user assets. When such movie is downloaded from the Gallery, the spots where
assets are missing will be stood in by the default placeholders.
Post Movie of Mixed Linkages
If
you post a movie that contains both of your own assets and of previously
downloaded third party assets, at the Linked URL screen you need
ONLY to enter the URL of your own assets. You don't have to worry
about the other URL(s) where your third party assets originally
came from. The linkage to those assets should have already been
embedded in your movie. And when user downloads such movie, all
assets from different URLs will be gathered automatically in user's
download.
